If anyone is interested, this is a great event. For a mere $7 per person, you can drive YOUR FIAT at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway and cross the historic 'yard of bricks' at the start/finish line!


American Family Insurance 500 Festival Community Day

Have you ever wondered how cool it would be to take a lap around the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway? Then rev up your engines for the American Family Insurance 500 Festival Community Day and you can do just that! Experience this unique opportunity of taking a lap around the track in your own car before the real race cars hit the track just four days later--at speeds of more than 200 mph!
Visitors are also invited to tour the IndyCar transport trailers, visit Pit Lane, check out the vintage cars on display, get autographs from Pro Series drivers and past champions. You can even take a Victory Circle photo just like you're the winner in a car with a trophy, a wreath and a glass of milk! When that is done, you still have time to check out the suites and the official timing & scoring area in the pagoda, see the Media Pit Stop Competition, enjoy live music, Q & A sessions and visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum.
Cost: $7. Kids 6 and under free.


The event this year is on May 23rd. While it is on a Wednesday and most of us WORK, it is most worthy of taking a vacation day to attend.

This weekend our local chapter of FLU is meeting to discuss upcoming events here in Indiana and I'm proposing that this be included as an "Official FLU/Central Indiana Italian Car Association Meet".

UPDATE: I made a pitch to the group of 20 members attending the CIICA Meeting Saturday. I think there were several members interested, but it will be up to the Board to make the final decision as to if this will be an "official planned" meet or simply a 'unofficial get-together'.

personally, I vote for the 'unofficial' meet, as there will more than likely be attendees that are not members of FLU.

if there are any 500 owners interested in attending this event, as I said before, pls post it here and also tell your fellow 500 owners about this. getting to make a lap at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is VERY cool and a great photo op for you and your car.

the planning of this event will start sometime in March, so if you have any suggestions or questions, pls let us know.
