    Springs - backseat passengers

    Hi there,

Lot's of great info here on springs and I'm leaning toward Neuspeed now for the Abarth. Wondering if any people who have gone with a more aggressive drop (Neuspeed rear, Madness Aggressive, Eibach Sportline, ) can comment on how the car rides if you carry 1 or 2 passengers in back seats on a regular basis? Have not seen much on this and noticed the other day how a full car (4 passengers) really pounded my rear springs waaaay down. Roads here are crapola so it is a concern.
    Thanks,
    Sam

Does that mean you found your own solution? I have no back seats and use coil overs so I can't offer any advice.

I'm interested in this, too. I guess it kind of is depends on the size of rear passengers though.

Not really, I am just holding off for now. I get the sense (minus any real scientific numbers) that most Abarth drivers don't have the back seats occupied on a regular basis, just from comments and some fellow drivers I know. I do have a regular 2 passengers in back so not sure the lowering springs are feasible, rubbing might be a problem. Very surprised by how low the car was riding with 3 people, it was just something I never checked before.

When you lower the car with shorter springs you take away suspension travel. Works great on track where the surface is typically better than the streets here in the North East. If you want the car to handle and still be able to drive without loosing the fillings in your teeth, try the rally type setups.

It appears you're on 17s. If so, have you considered going with Eibach Pros? Are you also replacing the parts bin rear shocks? This combo could work for you. It'll cost a bit more than just the springs, but better to do it right once.
