As it has been explained to me, the car's computer is smart enough to know that something isn't right with the flow of electricity and is reacting to the data. As you keep an eye on the lights, it wouldn't surprise me if you find different on/off combinations. For example, sometimes every thing works correctly, next week it's one or the other DRL that does not light.

As you noted, the bulbs are fine. And smark certainly had a simple solution.

    tedolph,

If you come to the Fiat on the Dragon rally next month, I'll give two load resisters to you. There is a YouTube or Vimeo on how to install. There are four wires coming out of the DRL housing and you only need to splice into two of them, per DRL.

Lasted longer than my boyfriends 2015 500C pop. Get this ****.......The left rear tail light went out after 2 years, then a month later the front right headlight went out, and then another month later the passenger DRL went out. I replaced them all pretty simple but yes I feel they should have lasted longer. My 2015 Sport which is only 6 months newer hasn't had any bulbs go out yet. Crossing my fingers. And yes, his dash board screen told him each time one was burnt out. He has the original dash cluster, mine has the newer all digital screen.

You guys clearly haven't owned any VWs. Replacing bulbs is a full time job.

Lol, he was pretty upset. But I really was totally fine with it. I mean, bulbs go out, they have a lifespan. They are a very simple fix on the Fiat. At least the cluster tells you they are not working. When he leaves for work it's dark and when he comes home it's dark, he uses them more than he thinks I believe.

    Ok, here is the answer.

Each DRL bulb has two filaments in it. One comes on when only the DRL's are on. The other one comes on when the DRLs and the headlights are on. Not sure what the purpose is but that is why the DRLs can be out when only the DRLs are on, but can come on when the headlights are on, or vice versa.

Shame on you all for not knowing that!

And, I ain't gonna do no splicing for solid state DRLs.

The car has to be able to return to stock for resale purposes.
