    Yup, at 8mph it makes that switch. I'm genuinely curious about why they did that since I've seen other cars use regen to a full stop and it would keep things much smoother...

    There is a lot of misinformation in this thread.

    EV cars are setup to operate within SOC (state of charge). So 0% to 100% on the dash gauge is actually not a true 0% to 100% charge. It will vary a little depending on design requirements from the engineers but MOST EV battery packs operate between 30% and 80% state of charge. This is done to maximize service life of the batteries and 30-80 is the most effective.

    As battery capacity degrades the BMS (battery management system) can increase more of the working range of the cells to achieve similar performance over the life of the battery pack.
