First oil change and service

At 3875 miles the car provided a system warning (oil change). I scheduled the oil change and my local studio (MA) directed me to an associated Chrysler/Jeep dealer ship for the oil change. I scheduled the service for last night at 6pm. I was advised that a couple service bulletins’ were in place. The door hinges needed to be re-torqued; the cap to the diagnostic port was to be removed; the lug nut wrench needed to be replaced. In addition, I had the lower fog light bulbs replaced with Nokya Artic Yellow H11 bulbs ($34 charge) (great look and better visibility with snow and rain which I drove in today). The whole process took about 1 hour.
I am somewhat surprised that the studio moved the service activities over to an associated dealership. If this is going to be the norm I wondering if any Chrysler dealership can handle my oil changes. I have one within minutes of my house and it would be a whole lot easier.
I usually get my oil changes done at Valvoline. I stopped by a couple days ago and of course they didn't have the necessary oil filter for the 500. I was even told that if the filter is a cartridge filter they would not change the oil. Apparently they broke the housing on a mini some time back and they don't want the liability. Kind of sucks because I have been using Valvoline for over 10 years and I trust the service.
