The driver's side bolster going seems like a common issue. My 2015 is starting to go too and I was blaming my treatment of the seats with Mother's protectant over the years, but I've seen quite a few that are the same or worse than mine. Interesting to hear the vinyl shop could not repair it. Mine had a tear in the rear seat vinyl that the dealer had fixed for me as condition of the sale and it has stood up very well over the years.
