Didn't notice the weight of the hitch at all and barely notice with a rack and a couple bikes on.
The 500e is sprung for an extra 400lbs of battery in the rear so that helps reduce the impact of the bikes.
You do loose a noticeable amount of range (~20%) cause of the drag of the bikes, especially at high speed (>70mph).
thanks! man, this range thing is a pain in the butt - can't even carry my bike without a major impact.

Nice pictures that helped me a lot, thank you.

In regards to wiring the socket for the trailerlights; does anyone know if i can tap into the rear lights, an make a relayed and fused interface for the trailer lights?
Are they still powered with 12 volts, or are they electronic/led/can-buse'd etcetera? I have a 2016 model.

Thanks.

The center brake light on the hatch is LED but the side brake/tail lights are standard 12V like my 1972 Datsun, so that should mean you can tap straight into them.

Edit: I replaced a brake light bulb in my friend's 2016 & it's identical.
