Yes, I unplugged it one last time and waited at least 5 minutes to clear the message about the doors closing and locking.
I hope it won't come back; this message is about key detection. I still haven't figured out what triggered it...
 
I believe there was a dealer-installed software update that affected the 12V.
Recall 6475 provided software updates which significantly reduced the incidence of 12V battery issues. If I recall, all cars which left the factory after Q2 2022 had that software version at build.
Any early 2nd generation 500e which didn't get recall 6475 is at risk.
 
Even though you didn't get a 12V message, it still might have gone low enough to trigger glitches.

You might want to confirm if you have that 6475 software update.
 
There were 2 issues in early 2nd generation cars until they got recall 6475.

The 12V battery could go flat without any warning.
If the 12V battery was disconnected and reconnected, the car had lots of alarms and couldn't be started.

My La Prima was built in late 2020 or very early 2021. In mid 2022 it died and had to be recovered to the dealer. The dealer found no faulty parts and did the software update of recall 6475 and the car has given no trouble since. Even though I've needed to disconnect the 12V battery a couple of times.

Since yesterday, I've recovered all functions, and the alarms have disappeared. But the initial problem has reappeared:
"Have the door locking system checked." That's the message I initially received. You can no longer lock the car from the outside and you have to put the key in the compartment between the seats.
The remote control battery is good.
The problem sometimes disappears.
I have the impression that the key isn't detected.
Disconnecting the 12V battery resets the message, but it comes back...

  • Your key fob doesn't lock or unlock the car, as if the key fob battery is low.
  • Your key fob only starts the car when it's in the center compartment, as if the key fob battery is low.
I wonder if you've actually tested the key fob battery with a multimeter.

Several owners have had problems with brand new key fob batteries. Off-brand seem worse, but even a name-brand battery could be defective.

Yes, I have a multimeter to test the batteries of the remote controls. I will test them and replace them if necessary. But it would be amazing because no message "low battery voltage remote control"...

Its very common that those small batteries are sold out cheap because they are out of spec. That's why some say you must buy brand like Duracell or the like.
But it seems to be outsorted batteries from production that should not be on the market at all.
So the advice is to always measure voltage on new batteries for small devices like key fobs.

Unfortunately, that will not necessarily identify inferior batteries, if their fault is excessive internal resistance, i.e. a satisfactory no-load output voltage does not guarantee a good battery.

It's definitely not a problem with the key's battery.
I disconnected the 12V battery again, and the problem has disappeared, for now....
 
I was thinking earlier that since it works fine after a 12V-only reboot, it doesn't appear to be a hardware issue.

Indeed, the problem was resolved (I hope permanently) by "sleep mode, 12V battery disconnected" for almost 3 days.
I had replaced the 12V battery after all (after 4 years).

When a 5-minute 12V disconnect fails to permanently resolve a problem, it's common for 30+ hours to work, in a pre-2020 500e.

When 30 hours failed, so far I've seen 2 reports of 61+ hours working, just like it seems to have done for your post-2020 500e.
