Depending on which model 500 you want, according to this article http://nascar.speedtv.com/article/autos-fiat-500-variations-poised-for-us/ you might be lucky enough to get it very soon or unfortunately wait for it. Once the initial batch of 500's are out, the rest will follow right after. Including the 500C Cabriolet & regular 6 speed model (2nd quarter of 2011), Abarth (1st quarter of 2012), and a 500 EV (4th quarter of 2012).

It bothers me that the wait for a 500 Abarth will be nearly 1 more year

"All good things come to those that wait" I'm not sure who said it but my father always used to say it to me when I wanted something. It NEVER made it any easier to wait.........:)

Is that a 6 speed manual? the media seems to be hyping a dual clutch 6 speed automatic. A six speed manual in a convertible and a better choice of color might be worth a short wait.:)

Nope it is a 6 speed auto new for North America and better than the Euro version. The manual is a 5 pseed. All the Prima's are 5 speeds.
