the guys at inside line did an article on J-lo using the Fiat 500 in her video.
I think it's cool a well known celeb is digging the Fiat 500!

Just the Facts:
- Fiat has enlisted entertainer and American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez to help it promote products such as the 2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio.
- Lopez will star in ads for the 2012 Fiat 500 throughout the year.
- A 30-second trailer for her Papi music video that features the Fiat 500 Cabrio can be seen on Fiat's Facebook page.

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Fiat has enlisted entertainer and American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez to help it promote products such as the 2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio.

The collaboration kicked off on Monday with a 30-second trailer that prominently featured the Fiat 500 Cabrio during the singer's Papi music video. It was shown during Monday Night Football. The 30-second trailer can be seen on Fiat's Facebook page.

The trailer shows Lopez driving the Fiat Cabrio, including one scene in which a man rolls off the hood. She is later helped out of the top of the car prior to a dance scene.

Fiat's deal with Lopez is just the latest in a long string of partnerships between automakers and artists. Lotus recently enlisted rapper Swizz Beatz to help it sharpen its image. Chrysler also used rapper Eminem to great advantage earlier this year during his appearance in its Super Bowl commercial. That commercial has now been viewed nearly 13 million times on YouTube.

Lopez will appear in commercials for the 2012 Fiat 500 which are slated to debut later in the year, according to Chrysler.

"Jennifer fits perfectly with the brand not because of who she is but because of what she is — authentic, passionate, modern and a fighter determined to stand out from the rest," said Olivier Francois, Chrysler chief marketing officer in a statement.

Chrysler did not disclose what it is paying Lopez for her celebrity endorsement of Fiat.

Most recently, Lopez, a 42-year-old mother of two, has been at the center of a high-profile divorce from the singer Marc Anthony. She has sold over 55 million records worldwide.

Marketing is a funny business. I couldn't name a single song by Lopez, M&M, or this Swizz Cheeze character and their participation in an ad campaign would more likely have made me look elsewhere for an automobile.
Luckily I bought my car before seeing a single commercial. In fact, I'm obviously not in the marketing target demographic since I still haven't seen a single commercial and I'm in an area with heavy tv marketing.
The Jay Leno endorsement was a little more clever. Jeremy Clarkson would be another smart shill.

J-lo is a beautiful woman but would a singer's endorsement lead me to buy a car.....not a chance. Clarkson yes.... His Abarth bit played a big part in my putting my deposit down back in March.

YMMV

These things usually reinforce what you already believe anyway. Some have mentioned Clarkson's comments and said that mattered a bit to them. No one has mentioned May's comments, which weren't as positive. Interesting.

I follow FIAT on Facebook. You tell me who's the bigger idiot, the guy who said, "After seeing that commercial, I want to bring my car back for a refund" or the guy who said, "I didn't like your car, I thought it was ugly, but now I must have one".

PUH-leeze. They both need to go back to junior high.

May didn't hate the 500 as much as people seem to think.
He hated the DIESEL 500 (not the limited edition, the one that goes chug chug)
Diesel engines suck, I'm sorry, but they do. They sound like a pickup truck, smell bad and while great with torque, suck with HP.
And no I'm not basing this on the old MB oil burners. I test drove a VW Diesel (supposed to be excellent, bleh) and the BMW diesel 3 series (was pretty nice, but not as good as the gas ones)

In fact, he tried to buy the 1.2l one in the Vietnam special.
