My name is Ryan, and I am a Fiat specialist at Tonkin Fiat. I hope that as the network of Fiat owners grows, the post and interest in this regional board grows, too.

If you have any questions, post them here or PM me. I will do my best to answer them, or direct you to a source who can.

I grew up stuffed into the back seat of a 124 Spyder, have owned an X19 and an Alfetta sedan. The Italian car affliction has been with me for quite some time.

Be careful out among them,

Ryan

I had to read this again, I thought it said you were stuffed in the trunk of the car by an Italian, lol.

Hi I'm Ken and I am picking up my 500 tomorrow 10/30/11 at your dealership. I've already named her "Topolino Veloce" Please have her all spiffed up for me. I am a Tuner and I will be customizing my car for shows. I have already won trophies for custom work at the Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum show, and I am going to show this car as 'Topolino Veloce" concept car as well. I hope to have her finished by early next spring. Does Tonkin do sponsorships? If so we should talk, I have a few sponsors lined up,e but as you can see from my pop model I still need a wheels and tyres sponsor and some performance parts upgrades. I already have some carbon fiber on the way. I can't wait to get started on this project. I'll try to find you if you are at work on Sunday 10/30 to say hello. Ken Hill

Sorry I missed you. I trust Ray took good care of you. We don't have any current sponsor programs in place, but I would be curious to see what you come up with.

Love my car and parts are on the way

I just ordered my first batch of carbon fiber parts (no you'll have to wait and see) Since all this stuff comes from EU it will be weeks before it arrives or I can install it. I currently have an Oil sponsor and a Paint and Bodywork Shop and Fuel sponsor. I build custom motorbikes as Fukencruzen But I am calling this "Topolino Velcoce Magliette Automobili"
Palazzolo Acreide Italy

or in English "Fast Little Mouse Custom Cars". Some form of his will be my windscreen banner and maybe on the tail too. Since I am married to an Italian we are registered in the canton of Palazzolo Acreide Sicily (when I retire I may open a shop custom there) but for now we are in Oregon so I have Italian names for my body graphics and concept.

I am still seeking show sponsors for wheels, tires, carbon fiber body parts (Fiat Madness???), and performance mods ( I really want the sprint chip). I may get 1 Restorante' sponsor named "DI Vinci's' from Salem. All sponsor graphics will be single color white or black 2"x12" (like Tonkin.com), only on rear quarter window, panels or rear end. I am selling sponsorships at $500 per spot unless someone wants a deal for a major sponsorship that would be much more but possibly doors, hood or roof for enough cash. But I want to keep it simple and smooth not to many graphics. Your guys put a Tonkin "love of cars" license plate frame on her but unless your management kicks down in some way its going to have to come off before I start showing her.
I would really love to have your dealership as a sponsor. Please show this post to management, I'd love to discuss this with them. I could do all of your promotions in the state if you sponsor me. This little booger gets lots of looks and stares now just plain, imagine what a sales tool it can be. Heck have your shop pimp one out and we could show them both. I will send pics as I proceed but it will be a month or so before much changes.(parts on a slow boat from Italy) Plenty of time for the bosses to decide if this would be a good sales tool for your dealership. Please talk to them and let me know I am very serious about this. Ask Ray, I don't jack around when I want to do something, he sold me a car like- ba' da' boom! Lets make this happen its really quite easy and its great cheap advertising for Tonkin, you guys probably spend more than $500 a week on newspaper adds this is much better and targets people who are interested in Fiat. Please show this to them and let me know.

Advertising helps everyone; dealers get name recognition, we get to show our cars (which we love) at hotrod shows and get free goodies(I definitely talk up the products I like and use). I also use sponsors for entry fees at big hotrod shows. Most hotrod shows have a Euro class; some with more entries and competition than others. Heck you can even win trophies and get tons of swag. I have even had car/bike shows call and ask me to enter in their events and waived entry fees to get my rides in their shows. Since the dealer I bought my new car from is smart enough to be on this forum, heck yes I would love them as a sponsor. It is a good deal for everyone they get tons of cheap direct marketing advertising, and I get help customizing my car and entering it in shows. Also because I drive my car everyday its out on the street and people are checking it out (On the street advertising 365 is the best for getting right to a specific customer). There are currently only 185 Fiat 500's riding around in Oregon, I get stares wherever I go; this is a great way to get to the right customers. Works great for everyone.

Makes sense, good luck with getting these deals acomplished, there are only a hand full of 500's in my area, maybe four or five that I know of as of right now.

I started restoring euro-cars with a guy 20 years ago, somehow we figured out the hotrod show and cruise scene and started building, showing and selling cars. It just kind of happened. I fabricate lots of stuff myself or with friends, so building, tinkering and going to shows is a hobby for me. The sponsors are just a way to help pay for my hobby. Its the same way that sponsorship works in World Rally Racing or NASCAR. I advertise for you you support my sport or show car addiction. Hotrod shows and cruise-ins or road rallies are great fun. I would love to have some country road rallies in Oregon we have great roads.(we could do a Cascadia 100 road rally) Maybe once I get my car finished I will pay for street night racing at PIR (Pacific International Raceway near Portland) for some speed runs. (that is are a great chance to get promotional pictures with a racetrack background for your car if you have a raceway or track in your area. I think since Laguna Seca in California is a county park they have a track day event for people to run on that track, I think it is affordable but a little spendy if you are ever in northern Cal it is a blast to drive a real track that races are on, even if you are not racing.
