Hello, today I’d like to demonstrate how I successfully installed a subwoofer in my 2021 Fiat 500e, utilizing the cigarette power outlet and the rear speaker connection

By using this adapter, I can safely draw power from the rear cigarette lighter port, eliminating the need to run additional wiring directly from the vehicle

The audio input is taken from the rear speakers (SDK ±). The speaker cables were accessible by removing the rear trim panel; however, the panel is held firmly in place with clips, so it required a firm pull to release it. After accessing the cables, I routed the red audio wires to the back of the car and converted them into standard left/right circular audio inputs for the subwoofer.

I have completed this installation on two identical Fiat 500e vehicles without any issues—no blown fuses or other problems. The subwoofer draws less than 15A, which matches the rating of the cigarette lighter port, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

If you have any questions about the installation, feel free to ask.

“Safely” is used a bit loose here. 16awg is only rated for 10-13amps(not including the 80% rule). I would double check amp draw on the amp while under high load. Hopefully the amp isn’t pulling more than 10amps as this is easy way to get some bump in the trunk. 😬

I probably would have just made a hard connection behind the outlet, just to mitigate any worries of a plug failure/melting scenario.
