I don't know why an oil P issue would prevent it from starting.

I also fail to see what replacing a water pump and timing belt would have to do with a starting problem (unless the timing belt snapped!)

Seems like the Studio is just making things up.

Hi,
Same happened to me on January 2018 after my winter vacation (only 15 days). I took the car to dealer it was under guarantee. They said all was good. Not paperwork.
However 6 months later, when the guarantee expired. Same problem plus one more that the car has since I got it, but because it was under guarantee. The dealer service always fixed without problem and not paper work to explain what was wrong.
The problem was the car wouldn't start, also light on saying "high temperature" when the car was parking for at least several hours.
Now that the car was not guarantee. The problem is this:
The car needs a new motor starter.
After changing that, the other problem that the car has and never was truly fixed when it was under guarantee is: DEFECTIVE ENGINE
All this when the car has only 40,000 miles and 4 years.
My trusted mechanic said these problems shouldn't happen to a "new car". All these problems are because cheap materials and defective parts, that the service dealer knew but never wanted to really fix the problem. Just let the customer deal with the expenses when the guarantee expires.
I have a FIAT 500 L 2014. Basically a nice decoration at my garage. Kind of new car to find a used engine to replace it :(

What makes you think that you have a "defective engine"?
