First, I had to detemine the gender of my 500 as you never quite know with cars. I had a '75 Civic CVCC which was most definitely a "Henrietta". With a Rosso Brillante paint job on the 500 I first tried "Rosa" which the car didn't seem to take to. Next, I tried "Tino" and he liked that very much.

 

Paolo - he just seems like a sauve Italan man.

 

We call ours "Lil Luigi" after the Luigi in the movie Cars!

 

I'm probably going to call my Abarth "maus". (german for mouse)

I have named my new Abarth "Figè".... short for Bella Figura, meaning not only beautiful figure but also one who enjoys the simple pleasures in life and who is comfortable in every situation.

 

I'm going to go with "Piccola" - the female version of the Italian word "small" or "tiny" (Masculine is Piccolo). But since I'm a girl, it has to be the female version

I've always wondered why Italians chose to nickname it "Topolino" when it's a "macchina".

We named our Pop 'Doozy bots', from the phrase 'tu se pazzo' which means 'you are crazy'. When people hear this, it sounds like Doozy bots. I think it fits very well.

What did you name your FIAT 500?

In enrolling onto the Chrysler / FIAT Owners' Website (prematurely, because my Abarth 500C has not actually arrived), I was given the opportunity to name my car! Reading another post in this forum introduced me to Bean, the name a FIAT owner had given his car.

I'm curious... did you name your car? If so, what? I like the idea, but I'm not clever enough to come up with a good name on my own (in fact, my favorite is "Cinquecento!" )
