How much overfilled is it? The 4QT capacity spec. is probably for a dry engine. Depending upon how well you drained, you would actually use less oil. The level might go down, a bit, after you crank the engine, but I would recommend pumping some of it out through the dipstic hole, to be on a safe side.

Just sayin' - if you bought a single large "jug" of motor oil in the US that's equal to 5 quarts...

Non-turbo 1.4 takes 4 Qts TOTAL with an oil filter change.

Hope that helps ;)

Well I'm gonna admit what I shouldn't, but this is what I did.

As soon as I changed the oil, my wife complained that the car started acting weird. It acted as it wouldn't shift out of 1st. I'd take it for a test drive and never any issues. I checked the codes and there is one for the cylinder 4 timing valve not opening or some such. Looked at the oil bottle again and I noticed it was 10w-30 not 5w-30 like the fill cap says. So I changed out the oil again with the 5w-30 and that issue went away. 3 days without any issue. Hopefully that was the only issue and this fixed it.

I didn't know these cars were so finicky. I supposed that when the engine oil was cold, it was too thick to allow the multi air valve to work properly. When warmed up enough the problem went away.

Oil capacity with filter is about 3.5L to 4L.
