[Blue 2015 500e]

Just picked up a new to me 2015 500e with 58,000 miles. Gashed my right rear wheel parking in a kind of, but not really, corner parking spot in a packed public park. Three cans of Plasti Dip applied over five coats. I think it looks great and pulls in the front and rear bumpers. I do hope to powder coat the wheels properly in the future after seeing these results. The pictures are of the same wheel. More pics and thoughts forthcoming. Fun ride!

I have been considering same thing, believing powder coat 🧥 is best.

Lots of posts on YouTube claim good results with spray paint 🎨. One guy has follow-up (maybe a year?) and it still looks great.

I've used Plasti Dip before, it's a great product for trying out ideas. If it holds up until I drum up some cash for powder coating, it's a win!

Cost of powder coating you can get a cheap set of wheels these days... Or add a bit and get lightweight wheels ~$210/ea

I did the Plasti Dip thing to all the trim in addition to the wheels. It's been almost a year and holding up very well.
