according to this link i found the fiat 500 will be free from smog check. its not like it was going to have a hard time passing anyway. but this just means that it will be a little bit easier for you guys that buy one and live in california.

How did they do that, does it not have a cat converter?

I had to have a 49 state AWD Colt station wagon crushed because they couldn't smog it after I got a GP ticket and there was no CA spec motor for it.
