Rapid battery gauge percentage drops

So it’s kinda like my VW where first half the rank the gauge barely moves but 1/2 on done it seems to dive every 20 miles.

I just had a pretty long freeway trip driving my 500e from home in Monrovia area to compton, to Tustin and back to compton and had it doing this. 100% of trip was with AC on as it was a warm day I was at 24% then I was literally watching it drop to 23-22-21-20-19-18-17-16% in 30 second span as I was coming to a stop off the freeway then ending up at 14% I was like oh wtf.

Mine was 100% charged up as I knew I was gonna need every last bit of it. What I most found peculiar is discharging like that while Regen braking and stopped at a light off the freeway. Here is me pre air conditioning While plugged in before leaving notice the huge difference in temperature though 108 degrees yikes

Don’t forget that was while regening which makes it even more wierd as I was seeing 22-45kw going back to the battery while doing so.

Do you think the vast difference in ambient temperatures have anything to do with the soc? I went from leaving in 108 degree heat to 80ish compton to 74 degree Orange County. I would imagine the bms would handle that with all the cooling tech onboard this ain’t a leaf.

Here something I found odd today. I went to a public charger and charged from 40% to 80% ok great I left and I parked the car overnight at Girlfriends house it was parked at 77% next day I get into my car it was showing 84% without even plugged in how does that s**t happen? Something really wonky about the gauge on this think I’m gonna have to go by mileage or something more concrete. Oh and bye the way the ChargePoint charged me for 10.31kw so that’s what it took from 40% to 80% so one of the systems lying? Isn’t 10.31kw like 50% charge?

What I don't get is how a 1000 watt space heater can heat a entire room yet the tiny fiat takes 7000 Watts of power to heat a area size of a typical office cubicle.

Does anyone know if pushing is a option once battery is exhausted? I know Tesla you can’t move the car ones it’s done it has to be forced onto a flatbed. I’ve seen them get towed with wheels dragging onto the flatbed.

Im not finding any crazy drops in % since that one time it did it months ago but i am now noticing range loss, my mile per kw is down to 4.5miles/KW when it was warmer it was 5.1-5.2mi/kw. I get home with 64-65% remaining when its usually 69-70% im guessing its the air density when colder creates more aero drag plus the battery takes a hit when its cold also. Tire pressures have been adjusted already 2 weeks ago to account for the colder weather.

That all makes sense. Also maybe tires being stiffer in cold. I assume you would have mentioned if you were using any heat (cabin or seat). Getting dark earlier can mean more headlight use though.

Less power available from the colder battery shouldn't affect miles/kWh, but would still leave you with less % at the end of the day, since it's effectively like the battery temporarily shrinking.
More headlight use definitely both ways and especially fogs in the am as it gets very foggy in my neck of the woods, heat? None so far it’s been cold but I bundle up so I don’t have to use the heater, I have used the seat warmer a couple times but it gets so hot so dang fast I turn them off after 5mins and don’t turn em back on.

Weather was rather cold lately in SoCal I had one of those oh $hit moments where my battery shows 0% but the car was still driving around and I made it home. I drove 3.3 miles at 0% home it did have the turtle displayed but still drove fine on surface streets, response definitely felt softer but I got up to 45mph no issues.

Thanks for the update. Apparently, when Fiat replaces the battery under warranty, they install a pack made up of the good cells from packs that had 1 or more bad cells. So it seems fine to replace just the bad cells.
Kinda makes me wanna buy spare cells when my Fiat is out of warranty just so I can repair it myself.
