I noticed something weird and after two years of ownership I finally figured it out. When I shut off the car, all the console lights go out.... except for the window switches. They always stay on for a bit, or until I open the door. Then it dawned on me: As long as the window switches are illuminated you can raise or lower your windows. They're indicators to let you know you can still do that even with the engine off.
First of all, no one should live or drive where the temperature is that low. Just my personal opinion and the reason I moved to South Florida. #2 the vehicle is warning you that even if the anti-freeze is new enough and at the proper concentration; it will likely not protect the coolant from freezing and damage to your engine is likely to occur.
Generally speaking, a 50/50 mix Ethylene Glycol/Water SHOULD protect to -34F and an artic mix (Propylene Glycol/Water) 60/40 to -56F but it you expect those extreme temperatures you should check the coolant with a hydrometer available at Walmart or any auto parts. There are other factors that will be affected by the cold, the battery voltage will be lower and the capacity shorter, the oil viscosity will be thicker increasing drag etc.
Here in Florida, anything below 60F and the folks break out the Parkas and the Muck-lucks, mittens etc. (ridiculous)
Wait until you see -31C(-24F). the digital displays are all scrambled and VERY slow to change. And, once the car warms up, the CEL comes on and the Ambient temp shows nothing. a quick reset at any service centre, once the weather corrects itself fixes the issue.

I think my solution would be to move to a place it never gets close to that temperature. I don't enjoy anything much below 60F personally, sucks since we have ice all over right now.
As a nod to the title of this thread, I'll add that my car is actually reliable, knock on wood. It's also fun as all he**, but I already knew that. Although come to think of it, is he** all that much fun? Probably not. So I'll just say that it is really fun.
Just rolling through this thread for fun and i'll add one. With the headrests out and the back seats folded down in a 2013 500 Sport you can fit a foldable hockey net, two sticks, along with extra gear. Car becomes a 1 seater when I want to go golfing though. If you get creative with the storage you can fit an awful lot of stuff in them.
You can also get a P.A. system in with 2 10' powered speakers, speaker stands, 4 mic stands, bag full of cables, pelican box with mics, a guitar, a mandolin, and two people! These cars hold a decent amount of stuff (with the seats folded of course!)
On the Abarth and probably other turbo models there is a turbo after cooler that you can hear running after turning your car off. If you hear it running and open your hood and you can see coolant pumping into your reservoir. Older turbo cars needed a cool down period but the electric pump keeps the turbo from scorching the oil. Nice job Fiat

I really like that feature too Bruiserman! I saw a video once... and they managed to squeeze 15 people into a fiat 500... not sure I'd be up for participating in that though ahaha!

I am sure that everyone knows by now that when the front wipers are on and you put the car in reverse, the rear wipers start. But when you have the car in reverse and then turn the front wipers on, the rear wipers stay off.
Kinda useless, but I just found out today, so ... yeah ...

Known that for 7 1/2 years now. Must be a European car thing. My old 2008 smart car did the same thing. What I don’t like about that feature. If you rear window is really dirty. Sand, salt, winter grime. Could scratch the window up.
