I just bought Vogtland lowering springs but have not yet had them installed.
Will I be able to run 205/50x16 without clearance or rubbing issues?
I've also considered 205/40x16...
(Wheels are OEM offset/backspacing; 6.5 rim width)

You should not have any rubbing issues. I think your wheels are ET35 and only 6.5 inch wide. You can go 205/45-16 or use the size you have.

My wheels are 16x6.5 inch Magneti Marelli (the "black stain" ones from 500 Madness).
They are essentially a direct bolt-on replacement for the OEM optional alloy wheels... same diameter / width / offset / backspacing.
