Post your previous cars! I'm curious about what kind of enthusiasts the 500 is attracting.

Here are some of mine:

'01 S2000

'95 M3

'99 Miata, '94 Mini Cooper

'91 NSX (only for a short time)

'88 323 GTX 4WD turbo

'79 corvette beater

And a few others that I'm not that fond of anymore (four RX-7's, 280Z convertible hack job, Renault LeCar (don't laugh), Izusu Impulse...)

Current: 500 and '01 Ducati Monster S4 (need some pics of it):

Hi,

Well, you might get a laugh out of this (no photos):

4. 1988 Jeep Comanche truck
5. 1999 Chevy S10 truck
6. 2002 Saturn SL sedan

Cars co-owned with my wife:

Hi

None of my cars have been all that exciting.

  • My first was a used 67 Plymouth Belvedere (Base model)
  • Next was a used 76? Ford Fiesta 3 door hatchback
  • My first new car (out of college) was an 88 Mazda 323 sedan
  • Then a 93 Plymouth Sundance (Base model) sedan/hatchback (it looked like a sedan but the trunk and rear window all opened as a single piece like a hatchback)
  • Then a 2000 Mazda Protege' (Base model) sedan (sadly although I really liked the looks and layout of this car, it was the only one that I've owned that started to have issues early on (within less than a year, so I ended up getting it fixed and then traded it in on something else)
  • Then a 2001 Hyundai Accent 3 door (Base model) hatchback (which I ended up giving to my sister, who needed a car)
  • Then a 2005 Toyota Matrix (Base model) 5 door
  • Then my new Fiat 500 Pop (Base model) 3 door hatchback.
Every car but the 1st had a standard transmission. I guess looking at all this I tended towards base model cars, a stick vice automatic transmission, and I favored hatchbacks maybe a little more than sedans.

Regards

Pat

My cars:

1993 Sentra SE-R - the love of my life. I still dream about it - no joke.
1997 Mercury Mystique (zzz)
1998 New Beetle (zzz)
2000 Audi A3 (YAWN!)
2003 Clio Sport 172 (YEE-HAW! 10 years later, I got a car I really loved!)
2006 Mazda 3 (OK, I guess)
2008 Civic Si Sedan (better)
2010 Cooper S (had to sell it a couple of months later, it was the biggest POS I've ever owned).
2010 MazdaSpeed (OK car, it was stolen a couple of months after I got it).
2011 Volvo C30 (Sexiest car I've ever owned, but it had the personality of an 80 year old librarian. Sold it and got my wife a CR-V instead).

In terms of sheer fun, I'd rate the Fiat at the Civic Si level. Give it 25 - 30 more HP and it'd easily be near the Sentra, IMHO.

My cars,

1994 Ford Ranger V6 Manual had a steel bumper. What a great thing for a teenager Sold it with 180k miles New owner destroyed it
2003 Nissan Sentra Spec V Fun car, sold it at 90k miles

2006 Nissan Xterra :present will be trading it in for the FIAT any day now. 109k miles
2008 Porsche Cayman Manual Completely modded and tracked 17 k miles and my love

Three cars, which is pretty scary for a 45-year-old

1. 1985 Saab 900S not bad while in grad school; succumbed to the dreaded too much tequila accident. Oops!

2. 1990 Honda CRX Si still own; 180k miles - used for autox and summertime, when I really want to enjoy my drive

3. 2002 Mercedes C230 (the hatch) still own; 143k miles - daily driver, but fairly modded - will be the swap when the Abarth comes in, assuming it's available with a normal manual transmission (is currently getting some serious rust fixed, which is ridiculous on a 9-year-old car)

Ressol - wish I could fit into an S2K; that would be my dream car if I did.

That car had the noisiest lifters of any car I've ever owned. Still loved it. I had eibach springs and 16put inch rota wheels...back when 16s were huge mini trucks were the rage, and taco bell still sold tacos for 39 cents.
