Winter has finally arrived, snow is already on the ground. As we all know it can get dangerous driving in winter conditions. For anyone with experience driving in winter, what tips would you give to the inexperienced?

To start, a good set of winter tires really help and making sure your vehicle is mechanically ready.

Here's a few tips

- Have enough gas. Half tank or more is good.
- Don't follow other cars too close, leave enough room. About 2-3 car lengths.
- A winter survival kit is recommended.

1. Make sure you keep a road assistance membership and their number handy at all times.
2. Keep an extra winter tire in the trunk of your car at all times
3. Here’s some more:

1. Keep tires properly inflated.

2. Speed up and slow down gradually, so you can see problems emerging gradually.

3. (This is my personal gem) Try to drive in straight lines. This is hard to explain, just think about it.

1. Pay attention to the road for starters (obvious)

2. Speed up and slow down gradually

3. Leave enough space between you and the other car ahead of you for braking purposes

4. My favorite....slow down and be patient. It's always better to get there later than to never get there at all!

  1. Grip steering wheel tight enough to turn knuckles white.
  2. Lean forward in seat to transfer weight over drive tires.
  3. E-Brake all corners.

Really, this is a thread topic?
