I like chemical guys. They have 3 different bars depending on how dirty your car is. And their bars are huge!

Plus as I understand it many if not all are earth friendly and smell really good, maybe even all "naturally made products" but not 100% certain. I intend to get some of what amounts to snow foam sometime soon.

 

Griots is pretty good...wasnt a fan of meguiers and I use thier stuff too. Chemical guys stuff is good also.

 

I made the mistake of using cheap clay bars and all it did was absorb a lot of the lubricant causing it to become pretty useless.
Also, if you use a medium grit, make sure you have some good polish as you will get some marring of the clear coat. Can't imagine that you would need a medium grit, so if you can get your hands on a fine grit use that.
If you plan to polish, and/or wax, then the lubricant itself isn't so critical, as long as you use a lot of whatever it is. I personally use the Meguiar's detailing spray with some water from washing left on the car. It works well enough, I just spray liberally while claying.

 

Chem Guys is what I recommend as well. Great products all around!

 

Contact Groit's and ask them. They have three grades of clay. They are masterful at what they offer.

 

well, I can't handle the overspray on my windows any longer. I don't want to wait for a mail order to arrive so I'm thinking of just going to the local Target to buy the Meguiar's kit. Nowhere on the box does it say what grade the clay is, so can I assume it's medium? Will the Meguiar's clay remove overspray from my glass?

Turtle Wax clay bar is NOT recommended ...

 

after taking several classes at the meguiars headquarters, im obviously a pretty big fan of their clay bars now. used several on a rental car someone brought before taking the DA to it. i bet enterprise never had a car come back in better condition than when it left before =p

 

I bought a Simonize clay bar, it's garbage. Would not buy again.

 

Zanio Z18 is my favorite.
