forgive me as i do not know much about cars and have only been driving for a few months now.
i have a 2021 fiat 500e passion that i got in january. at first carplay was working fine, then in february i had to get my car looked at for an unrelated issue and whilst it was back at the dealers they updated the entertainment system(?) for me.
ever since then, my carplay has not been wirelessly connecting. i can play music from my phone just fine, but everything else will not connect - before the playlist icons / album icons would show on the screen but now it’s just blank.
i’ve tried forgetting my device and reconnecting, i’ve tried with wifi and 4g, i’ve even deleted any VPNs i had but nothing seems to work. everytime i try it says ‘device unavailable - make sure apple carplay enabled device is on and ready to connect’. i’ve checked to see if the entertainment system needs updating but nothing has come up.
it works just fine when i plug my phone in to the car but just will not work wirelessly which i would prefer. if it helps my car says it’s on android version 8.1.0? like i said i don’t know much about cars so i’m not sure how to check if that’s the latest version. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
