2013, owned 5+ years & 16k miles (26k now).

1 problem (stayed drivable) fixed myself by 30-sec 12V disconnect. EDIT: Might have been fixed by 10 key cycles off 5 min ea, but even if I knew that trick back then, it would have made me late for work.

Dealership needed ONLY for software updates. Last one was 2018.

2015, owned 1 year 3 months, 40k km (25k miles), now 60k km (37k miles)
1 problem - disappearing % SOC below 3 degrees C and below 30% SOC on gauge (have yet to confirm with ODB)
Potential problem - starting to hear a slight hum between 60-80 km/hr.........wheel bearings might be on their way out.
SOH 1 year ago 96%, SOH now 89%
98% of the time charged on L1, charge typically kept between 20-28% with once a month balancing to 100%.

THANKS EVERYBODY! Please keep the reports coming.

1 problem - disappearing % SOC below 3 degrees C... SOH 1 year ago 96%, SOH now 89%... charge typically kept between 20-28% with once a month balancing to 100%.
Thanks for the report Q2, but:
  • Disappearing % often "just" requires the admittedly-time-consuming reset that neither of us has bothered with, so it's not really fair to consider that a problem, since you very well may be able to drive just as far as before. When the car's gauge shows 20% or less, how much more capacity does OBD show you really have available?
  • SOH numbers from OBD are completely meaningless. Mine went from 89% to 59% in 400 miles, then impossibly UP, to an also-impossible 100% & then back down to 71%, all the while driving an average of 1%/mile.
  • Keeping a Li-ion battery at 20% is better than keeping it over 80%, but around 60% is supposedly best (3920mV/cell on OBD).

Mr Abarth: Thanks for your report too, but this is the forum for FIATs that get an oil change every infinity miles;) (motor has ONE moving part).

GAS "Sport", right? (not 500E Sport). I thought on this 500E-only forum I wouldn't have to specify, but I now added it to the subject line.

OEM tires on the E wear VERY quickly. I think mine lasted less than 5k miles even rotated front-to back! But the cheaper Hankooks I replaced them with are on track to last at least 3 times as long, possibly partly because I went up 2 sizes in width, to 205s.

2015 500e. I've owned this car for almost 18 months. Bought at 12k miles, currently at 26k miles. (Would've been higher except for the pandemic.)
Costs: New tires. New 12V battery. New bulbs (one headlight and both taillights). Driver side armrest broke and I haven't bothered replacing. Uconnect can be finicky connecting to my Android phone.
Its my daily commuter with 80 miles round-trip daily mostly at 65-70 mph in Salt Lake City in everything from below freezing to 100 F temperatures. Been very happy with the car so far.

Thanks for replying. Everyone please keep chiming in!

My only costs have also been just a set of tires ($300) & a 12V battery (downsized to $53 incl. reusable adapters). Both headlights, one taillight & one rear side marker replaced free by dealer. My armrest only gets in my way.

Your 2015 Uconnect expired irretrievably 3 years after original sale so you must mean bluetooth, which for me always connects fine as long as my phone's bluetooth is running when I start the car. Otherwise it can take several attempts, but I think it helps to be in Park, or at least Neutral.

Q2RD2100 did now confirm with OBD on another thread that it's just his % gauge reading low, with OBD showing much more battery capacity still available.

Yes. I meant Bluetooth. Thank you for the insight on connecting.

I think so. I bought it after I think it stood still for 3 years if the carfax is right. I did not no this when I bought it . But the cells are being repaired at the moment. I don't know how it will come back. It was under warranty so that's good!

We drive really a lot of kilometers in the car for work because it's a lot cheaper then my Alfa Romeo in the city . And the freezing cold of the time he almost died played a role I think after standing still for a long time.

When the car turns out a lemon .. i think the usa use that frame :p .. then I wi buy the new model 500E with a 42kwh battery. Around 28k new now.

Bought a 2016 a little over a year ago with 27K miles on it
Put a little more than 3k miles on it in a little over a year but would have been more hand it not been for COVID.
Only issue so far is the third brake light stopped working. It started to randomly work again but then stopped again in the last few months.

It was under warranty but never made it to the shop to fix as there isn't a Fiat service place close enough to make it easy to make the trek out.

Otherwise its a fun little ripper.
