Hey Gang. New guy here. Thanks to this community and it's accumulated knowledge and helpful members... I decided to give a go at buying a dead battery pack 500e. This is my first EV (I've never even driven an EV)... but I like projects that allow me to take things apart and learn how they work... a continuing education course, if you will.
The '13 500e is in really nice condition (under the dust from sitting outside for a while). The story was it was parked last winter ('22) charged but not plugged in... and come the following spring of this year ('23) it was dead. Towed to a dealer, codes read, determined pack was dead. Owner decided to sell it instead of the crazy pack replacement costs since the car was out of warranty.

With a good 12v battery, the car comes alive and can be shifted into neutral (thankfully so I could trailer it).
Opening the door the dash wakes up... that was when I would see the 47% battery indicated:

After the key was put in and turned 1 click, I would see the Turtle:

When I attempted to plug the car into the the charger I got the goal posts:

I got AlphaOBD and a Konnwei OBD bluetooth connector (also got the OBDLink SX cable too). I am able to connect to the car, but any attempts at reading the battery status give only an abrupt log with no real data (tried both bluetooth and cable connectors). I wonder if you can actually get a read off a dead pack??
