"Short Shot" intake

have you seen the length of the runners on the intake manifold? lots of smooth out time between the plenum and the cyl head, so if there is a flow smoothness issue I did not notice it by the 'ol butt dyno.

i found the main change between the short shot and the other styles/designs out there is sound. Because there is no tubing directing the sound away from the driver, like a RRM, Competizione, Mopar, or Injen, one gets the full effect of the load pedal when pressing it.

as for temps, the interesting thing i noticed was that since there is a complete lack of ducting or tubing to receive heat soak from the motor sitting at a light or a drive thru for instance, once moving again the throttle body temp cooled off faster than if there was a tubed intake. So if you're moving, the temps are actually lower at the throttle body than if the filter was relocated to a stock or fender position. I think RRM concluded this too when they designed their intake as well.
